It was a bright and beautiful Sunday afternoon and some of us had decided to meet at Sheep's Meadow in Central Park. While walking towards our meeting point, we saw activity all around us. Running, walking, cycling, blading, frisbee, baseball, cards, reading, crosswords, soccer, boating - even cricket! People were genuinely happy to be enjoying activities they liked with people they liked.
And then began the discussion...
"Wow, there’s so much going on…"
"Look how fit the runners are. I wish I had someone to run with me. I hate running alone."
"I miss playing the guitar. I’ve forgotten how. I’d love to learn again."
"I love playing tennis so much I could give lessons and make some extra money."
And then began the excitement…
"It will be so cool to try different things."
"How do people even know what's out there?"
"What if we found a way to connect people with similar interests that want to either try new things or pick up old interests – in their neighborhood or when traveling?"
"Hey...wait a minute...”
And then came Kiki...
"Who are the people who will enjoy this stuff?"
"Someone who loves life, lives life, gets a kick out of life."
"A Kick…maybe kicky…keeki…Kiki...YES, Kiki!"
And that's how Kiki was born.
Kiki embodies the spirit of life. Kiki represents enthusiasm, zest and curiosity. Kiki likes to explore and discover the possibilities. Kiki likes to be surprised. Kiki loves life.
