Martial Arts In The Movies: Bruce Lee

Born to Chinese American parents on 27th November 1940 in San Francisco, Bruce Lee was a famous actor and one of the fundamental fighters behind the rise of martial arts as a form not just to be seen in the movie but also to be learnt and practiced by normal individuals. Apart from acting in movies, he had also directed, produced, and written the screenplay of a few films. His movies were all the rage in China, America, and Hong Kong and many other countries.

Bruce Lee was an icon for many and inspired a number of people to pursue careers in martial arts. Imitating his way was the thing to do, and even today, tournaments, events, and championships are held in his honor where contestants showcase their martial arts.

Bruce Lee's Action

Bruce Lee was known for and is still respected for his physical strength. He worked very hard to build a physique that wasn’t just muscular but also gave him incredible stamina.

Lee’s workout regimen consisted of lifting weights of up to thirty five kilograms to build his upper body and his arms. He also did exercises like squats, pull-ups, curls, and his legendary push–ups with the support of just two fingers. Even his punching style was unique and though decades have passed, people are still trying to imitate his technique.

Today, many American tournaments are held honoring the legendary Bruce Lee. He was one of the unique individuals who not only was an actor but an inspiration to many individuals and groups to take physical fitness more seriously and achieve the peak of fitness.
