La Difference Auto School Teaches Haitian Dance

The Brooklyn-based La Difference Auto School is situated at 836 Rogers Avenue in the vicinity of Flatbush. This school is famous for its lessons imparted in various fields.

There is provision of lessons in turn indications and privileges of ways in English, Creole, French and Spanish. The place where classes are organized is an old building, but is brilliantly decorated and located in the East Flatbush area of Brooklyn. It is difficult to distinguish the store among other bookstores operated by Jamaican seafood markets, car garages and Trinidadian roti stores. However, the same place becomes quite distinguished from others on Sunday nights. Haitian beats fall on the Rogers Avenue from the back room of the school. At the back room, lessons in conventional Haitian thumping and dance are organized by the dancers from La Troupe Zetwal and La Troupe Makandal.

Apart from dance classes, there is a provision of individualized driving lessons at the La Difference Auto School. In addition to this, they also offer pre-licensing course for 5 hours on Sunday and Wednesday. Also there is facility of Point Reduction, Road Test appointment, Car for Road test, Defensive driving course and free door to door pickup. As we mentioned in a post a week back, foreign language films are a great addition to your tutoring lessons in NYC. It helps your tutoring buddy see the language he or she is learning used in a more comfortable text – that of the film – and is much easier to understand and grasp rather than reading it from a textbook. With that being said, we here at HeyKiki have strung together another four flicks to add to the list. Lights, camera, learn:

1. Notte Prima Degli Esami (Italian, 2006): If the Italians ever made a “Superbad,” it would be this movie. Join Luca and his teenage friends as they prepare for the maturita – the high school graduation exam that all Italians must take (equivalent to the SAT or something of that caliber). And all the mishap and adventures they get into along the way.

2. Hiroshima, Mon Amour (French, 1959): This film noir film from the French movie-making climax is an interesting journey to post-atomic Japan; hence the title of the movie. But it is so much more than that: in a beautiful mix of romance and drama, an odd couple finds love with a war-torn country as its backdrop.

3. The Motorcycle Diaries (Spanish, 2004): This recent movie made a splash on the international scene as an alternative look into the life of Cuban revolutionary, Che Guevara. As a young medical student, Che took a trip with his best friend across Central America – a journey that would change his life forever. All for our viewing pleasure.

4. Spirited Away (Japanese, 2001): The animated film blew away audiences when it first premiered for its unbelievable imagination. The main character, Sen, escapes her troubled world and enters another one; this time, it’s filled with creatures one can simply only imagine.
