Young Pianists, Meet Franz Liszt

For those who are beginners in piano, there is one important pianist in the history of the piano world whom they should take up as their role model. It is none other than the Hungarian pianist Franz Liszt. This nineteenth-century pianist is a multi-facet personality by being a composer, teacher and a conductor too. He was known to be the most technically advanced pianist of the age that has given him a unique identity and made him an icon of that period. The contribution of Franz Liszt to the musical world is too vast that it is quiet complicated to pick the best among them. Tracking down his early days, the passion for piano was something that came as hereditary from his father who was a cello player.

His father passed away in 1826, a traumatic disturbance for Liszt’s personal life and also for his interest in music. After his father’s death, he deviated from music and was concentrating on books related with art and religion until he met Comtesse Marie d’Agoult. The impressive proposals that came from him in the form of songs and music were all inspired by this lady and he staged his first piano performance on 1834. There begun his hike in the music field and the news that he spent most of his collections for humanitarian causes enhanced his status even more. His renowned creation in his lifetime was the symphonic poem which was a type of orchestral piece that was not sung, but still it binds the drama and music as one.
